Sarah Harding Pictures - Cartier Polo Event

Here are a selection of pictures of Girls Aloud singer, Sarah Harding from this weekend's International Cartier Polo Event, pictured with Simon Webbe, Jodie Kidd and Duncan James (ex- "Blue" singer) as well as with current boyfriend DJ Tom Crane.

Sarah Harding's boyfriend Tom Crane (pictured above) said he is fed up with people who thinks he works in a market after media claims saying he did. Tom said: "Everyone keeps saying I work on a market. I don't know where that came from - I'm a DJ!"

The Rrrs @ Golden Cross, Coventry

The Rrrs rolling @ the Golden Cross, Coventry

The Rrrs are possibly THE most entertaining band to watch on stage and never fail to leave me feeling all happy inside when I watch them perform. Normally you'd expect a group of Warwick Students to be all stuck up or aloof but nothing could be further from the truth, Sharliza, Les and Rowan are the most down to earth, chilled out people I know and make live music fun to watch and listen.

There is a certain chemistry between Sharliza and the band, which allows her to be able to politely kick Les and Rowan in the balls - and still get away with it! If you've ever seen The Rrrs live then you'll know what I mean, you not only get a collection of fast indie songs but you get a free stage show as well. Blinking is not allowed as you'll miss the on stage antics between the band members, the high point being at the end of the set as Sharliza grabbed Rowen's nuts and then stood over Les (as he lay on the floor) beating him with her guitar. Now that's Rock 'n' Roll!

The Rrrs put the fun back into music and even the stand in drummer gave 110% last night. The two videos below give you an idea of their solid performance as a band. It would be a great shame not to see them still performing over the coming months because they still do not have a regular drummer, so if you know anybody who can fit the bill, drop them a message on their MySpace or on Facebook.

It was also a credit to see a new band performing their first gig last night, Paris Riots. It is never easy standing in front of family and friends performing but these lads did a great job. Check them out at : http://www.myspace.com/parisriots

Shakes and Shivers @ Golden Cross, Coventry

Shakes and Shivers @ Golden Cross, Coventry

The Shakes and Shivers performed a blistering gig last night at the Golden Cross, Coventry. I think it was this band that produced all the heat as Tom and Luke sweat their b**locks off while singing, dancing and swigging beer. Meanwhile John on drums, melted like a malteser chocolate as he bashed away in the background.

Coventry has produced a lot of fine bands recently and Shakes and Shivers are another one to add to that growing list. It would make a perfect duet to see Tom Sutch from Shakes and Shivers on stage with Sharliza Rahman from The Rrrs because they both bring much needed fun when watching bands perform. Both are energetic and go simply crazy while on stage. We need more people like these.

Watch the video below to see the Shakes and Shivers in action last night:

Half of Nothing @ Beer Engine, Coventry

Half of Nothing @ Beer Engine, Coventry

Half of Nothing played at the Beer Engine, Far Gosford Street, Coventry on an ordinarily quiet Sunday evening. Tonight was my first night out in ages and I was looking forward to seeing Half of Nothing perform again.

We even had our own little souvenir for the night, thanks to the drummer, Phil giving us a little piece of his drum stick - OK, it did look phallic, but I blame my dirty mind for thinking it was. When your performing live, you have to be prepared for the unexpected and when Rob's D string broke, the band had to improvise while he changed strings. Older tracks were played as Alex took the lead and Phil had to remember just how those older tunes went. James remained as calm as ever and even shared a joke with the punters, which led to another joke being told by someone at the bar.

A cover song was thrown in for good measure and had a good reaction from those in the pub. Sadly for Rob the replacement D string broke as well, meaning he had to play on without one - if anything, it proved how vital a role he plays in Half of Nothing. It also was a credit to see him playing on in the face of adversity. He may have felt a bit disappointed because the string had broken but those listening and watching were not in the slightest disappointed because the performance was spot on and just what we needed.

Super fan, Nino

The Enemy: "Your Not Alone"

Coventry music trio The Enemy have announced this weekend that the next single from the number one album "We'll Live And Die In These Towns" will be the anthem track "Your Not Alone".

The single will be released on September 17th on Warner Brother Records. The single features as tribute to the thousands of workers who lost their job when the Peugeot plant in the band’s hometown of Coventry was closed just before Christmas 2006, "You’re Not Alone" is the third full single release to be taken from "We’ll Live And Die In These Towns" following ‘Away From Here’ (#8) and ‘Had Enough’ (#4).

The video and lyrics will appear here on "robmacca" as soon as they become available but in the meantime you can get a taster, thanks to YouTube and the Radio 1 "Big Weekend" performance in Preston recently.

The Enemy To Support Rolling Stones

The Enemy are to support The Rolling Stones at London’s 02 Arena on August 26th 2007 in front of 20,000 fans.

The Rolling Stones are playing three dates at the London venue as part of their worldwide tour, which has seen them perform in such places as Bucharest, St Petersburg and Belgrade. The Enemy will be touring around the UK during September and October as part of their hectic year of non-stop touring, which has seen the Coventry band playing a gig every three days on average!

The Rolling Stones recently donated part of a concert proceeds in Poland to victims of a coach crash earlier during their visit to the country this month while The Enemy announced this week that their next tour will be part of the NME "Rock n Roll Riot" Tour which will also feature Lethal Bizzle and The Wombats.

Speaking to NME Magazine Tom Clarke said:

"It's going to be a celebratory tour of the album."

"I'm dead excited about it. It's a wicked feeling hearing people singing 'We'll Live And Die In These Towns', it's just amazing, it's one of the
most elating, exciting feelings you can ever have. The best thing is it's not
people singing back half-hearted - they were singing it with the same passion I
recorded it, that's one of the best things. So I can't wait for the tour."

Get Naked!

*picture part of Kerry Starbakka collection @ http://www.starbakka.com
If your in the UK, you might just want to jump out of bed and stay naked - because we've finally got some sunshine! Weather reports even say it could last for a few days, so why not make the most of it and get outdoors and soak up the sun.

Join the masses, maybe even like these naked Mexicans and enjoy the few days of summer and make the most of it because we don't know how long it will last!

If your short of idea's then you could always get some friends and go to the beach and play a game of naked twister!

Enjoy the sunshine folks...................

The Enemy: MTV Interview

For a group whose debut album went straight to the top of the charts, The Enemy have humble beginnings. Singer Tom Clarke told MTV:

It came out of a drunken argument. One of our mates was trying to convince us that Slayer had made more money than Abba and he told me and Andy that we could never make a decent band.”

So the Coventry three-piece- Tom Clarke, Bassist Andy Hopkins and drummer Liam Watts- were determined to prove their drunken buddy wrong.

We were doing the same every day,” said the front man Tom. “I worked for the Co-Op and Liam worked for Fed-Ex so we went and booked a rehearsal studio and we wrote 40 Days And 40 Nights.

That became The Enemy’s first single released on legendary label Stiff Records that put out early punk and Elvis Costello classics. Soon after the group were snapped up by major Warners.
Tom told us their influences include The Rolling Stones, The Jam, The Clash, Oasis, and The Verve. Though “Liam loves Jazz fusion too.” It’s clear they’re also inspired by Staines rockers Hard-Fi. Like the Hard To Beat band The Enemy sing of small town alienation and a desire to get out.

Coventry comes through in our lyrics,” says 19-year-old Clarke. “We just wrote about what we see on a daily basis here. We love it with all our hearts but it’s weird. It’s massive but it’s got an amazing sense of community.”

We’ll Live And Die In These Towns is not all like the rancour of recent single Had Enough with beautiful Happy Birthday Jane featuring and tender This Song likely to be a Christmas single.

Singer Tom told MTV: “It’s got the essence of panic in places and it’s really full on but there’s a lot of slow songs that I like just as much. We’ve got 10 really individual sounding songs in there.”

Like their idols Oasis and Arctic Monkeys who they’ve also been compared to The Enemy have avid followers: “All credit to our fans they know how to ‘av it,” Clarke explained. “They do go mad at live shows and are absolutely brilliant.”

And after two top ten singles and a number 1 album before the age of 20 The Enemy have the world at their feet and most importantly time to get even better. As Tom says: “We have the belief that we can be the best band in the world!

David Beckham: New Beginnings TV Documentary

David Beckham came across professional and humble as he spoke about his new start in America. The much talked about TV documentary "David Beckham: New Beginnings" was aired on ITV1 tonight, a week after Victoria Beckham's own show.

David revealed how he was physically sick after resigning as England manager as well as sharing his personal thoughts about moving to America and the aspirations he has to change football over there.

Instead of being a documentary full of pomp and image, this time it really gave us a glimpse of what David Beckham has been through and what he thinks - away from the glitz and glamour of the celebrity lifestyle.

Celebrity News

Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) continued to show off her new man Stephen Belafonte as they attended the Beckham's "Welcome To America" party this weekend.

The couple managed to keep all their private parts in the right places after Melanie revealed last week that her new man Stephen has got a big one!

It looked like Mel could make a boob of herself at any moment but was spared any Janet Jackson style wardrobe malfunction during the party.

Melanie has been busy in the media headlines already this week as this picture shows her just after a lunch time meeting with her lawyer.

Mel B has hired top celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred in a bid to take funny man Eddie Murphy to court over new born daughter Angel Iris.

So far Eddie has failed to even see his three month old daughter after sensationally dumping Melanie on TV late last year. The Spice Girl is now proving she has Girl Power and is determined Murphy should pay his dues.

As mentioned earlier, the Beckham's were honoured with a "Welcome To America" party this weekend. The party was hosted by Tom Cruise and Will Smith and was an A list celebrity event with such guests as Rihanna, Jim Carrey and Friends actor Matthew Perry.

There were the usual media frenzy and it will ensure David and Victoria Beckham continue to climb the American celebrity ladder over the coming months. David Beckham can be seen on ITV tonight (Tuesday 24th) at 9pm. Hopefully the critics will be kinder to David than they were to Victoria. Her show last week pulled in 3.5 million viewers but was heavily panned.

Girls Aloud proved they are still the hottest girl group around at the moment with a stunning performance at T4 On The Beach.

As the picture shows - the girls have got what it takes by bringing a little sunshine to the 30,000 to an otherwise washed out UK summer.

They are back with a new single "Sexy No! No! No!" on the 3rd September.

Last bit of celebrity news, the winner of "Britain's Got Talent" Paul Potts, has knocked of The Enemy from the #1 position in the album charts - by out selling the Top 10 combined. The reality show winner sold a whopping 120,000 copies.

According to the Daily Mirror, The Enemy frontman Tom Clarke, 19, had mocked the former mobile phone salesman, fuming: "It's a f***ing disgrace. Nobody will know who this bloke is in a year's time."

The Daily Mirror are doing a Poll as to who you think will last longer - Paul Potts or The Enemy.
I think you can guess who I voted for but cast your own vote HERE.
