We have a nice new picture and Emma in our email inbox today as we catch up with our latest busy SpiceGirl this week. We've already seen Victoria Beckham breaking all records at Selfridges this week with the book signing and the HMV signing/singing with Melanie C for her new DVD "Live Hits", now it's the turn of BabySpice.
Emma is thrilled be releasing the BBC's official Children In Need single for 2006, her very own rendition of the sixties classic 'Downtown', originally by Petula Clarke. On doing her bit to help raise money for the charity Emma says: "I am honoured and delighted to be asked to do this on behalf of Children In Need. I've always loved 'Downtown' as a song and I've put my own stamp on it."
The track will be available to download on November 13th and to buy in store from November 20th. Emma's Strictly Come Dancing friends have joined her on the 'Downtown' video. To her delight they agreed to give up their precious time to make the special appearance and the video was shot at a secret London location last week.
Emma says "The video is a good laugh. All the Strictly guys came along and it really added to the finished video so I'm really touched that they all made the effort to come along!"
G-A-Y December 2nd
There's more exciting news - that Emma will be performing at G.A.Y on December 2nd at London's Astoria! This will be the first time in over 2 years that Emma's graced the stage of this infamous venue. She'll be performing a delicious mix of new material from her new album Life In Mono, and a few Emma classics.
Aww Emma is so lovely, I have to admit that when I first read about her new CIN single (Thanks to this blog :D)I was really excited about it; I think the song is amazing and I can't wait to see the whole video. I hope that a lot of people buy it especially because it's CIN single but I fear it mght not get high in the charts because of the lack of pop latelty.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it will be Emma's highest single release since "What Took You So Long", because it is the Children In Need single.
ReplyDeleteWell I really hope so; it's just that Liberty X had a "standard" chart position last year but hey Emma is capable of anything :D
