Spice Girls Reunion Off Again!

The planned Spice Girls reunion looks to be in tatters for another year as news of Emma Bunton finally getting "up the duff" became official. Last year Emma revealed that she had been diagnosed with endometriosis, a condition which makes it difficult to conceive, and it looked like Baby Spice would never be able to have children of her own.

Emma has been with her boyfriend, Jade Jones, for over 8 years now and is said to be delighted with the news. The baby is due in the summer, just after Geri's celebrates her 1st birthday and Melanie Brown gives birth to her 2nd child, while Victoria juggles America with her 3 children. Emma is the 4th Spice Girl to get pregnant and has finally nailed a reunion this summer at the Diana Concert for the Spice Girls.

Time Flys By

I really don't know where the time has gone since I went on holiday - it seems I have constant distractions that have disrupted my usual robmacca Blog posts. Namely its MySpace as my new toy and a certain website that has provided me with hours of entertainment, but I won't go into that!
The week away in London was the perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends. Most of those I met up with have been friends for a number of years now and goes to show how the net can translate from online conversations to real life friends.
Thanks to Kev and Nana for hosting me and for the people who made the week special!

Geri and Victoria News

Geri and Victoria ice-skating in London

Geri and Victoria spent plenty of time together recently ice skating in London with their children during the Christmas period. This has raised questions about Victoria being pregnant with her fourth child and Geri reportedly told Closer magazine:

"I think she's definitely expecting again," she said. "She hasn't been feeling well, has practically stopped drinking and has been really broody."

Geri was pictured in the press recently clothes shopping for baby Madonna Bluebell in London's West End, a newspaper dubbed her Geri Spenditwell, after it claimed she spent thousands of pounds on baby clothes.

Victoria snippets

Meanwhile Victoria is never out of the media eye and has been said to be hurt by Liz Hurley's "nasty comments" about her weight and the way she conducts herself. The Beckhams have apparently been struck off Liz's March wedding list.

Victoria has turned down the chance to buy Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch because it is 3 hours drive for David to get to the LA Galaxy football club. The Beckhams were also known to be looking around the former $15m home of Lionel Richie.

Let's hope Victoria doesn't hurt her toes while she's doing her house hunting because her toes are worth $10m as she lend her name to a line of handbags and shoes to be sold in exclusive boutiques across the US.

Emma Bunton News

Emma flying high for her new single "All I Need To Know"

Emma Bunton may have turned 31 over the weekend but she still looks very much the "Baby Spice" as the latest picture above shows. It is taken from her new video that is being shown on the music channels right now ahead of the mellow, yet sensual new single that will hit the shops on February 12th. "All I Need To Know" is the opening track from her "Life in Mono" album, which surprisingly has only sold 40,547 copies since it's release last month. Some are writing Emma off already, but the album really is a "grower" and has been such a pleasurable album to have on while unwinding.
The video compliments this simple, honest track - why not watch the video below and judge for yourself!

Melanie C News

Melanie C is back with a new UK single release on March 26th with an infectious cover version of "I Want Candy". Melanie was asked to record the track for the new British movie with the same title that is released on April 6th in the UK. To get an idea of what the song will be like, watch the Bow Wow Wow version below:

Melanie is keeping busy in Europe and will be releasing a new track in German, Austria and Switzerland on March 16th. It's called "The Moment You Believe" and is going to be used in an advertising campaign in Germany over the coming weeks.
The 4th studio album is set for release in 2007, so watch this space for more news!

Lets Talk Sport

Coventry City Football Club may have damaged any remaining hope of having a good year in the Championship Football Leauge after sacking their manager Micky Adams (pictured left), following 8 games without a win. Currently 16th in the table, Coventry have gone from heading for the play-offs to fighting relegation in a manner of weeks. But sacking Adams, in my humble opinion may have a longer negative effect.

Wrexham Football Club seem to be hitting the rocks this week as they lose one of their best player in recent years, Darren Ferguson, who has gone on to become Peterborough's player-manager. This follows hot on the heals of Denis Smith's shock dismissal from the club. Added to a miserable set of football results landing them 4th from bottom and 1 point from the relegation zone the Coca-Cola Football League Two. Lets hope caretaker boss Brian Carey (pictured left) can turn things around in a few weeks like he's hoping or its the end of Wrexham as we know it.

*Wrexham are my other football club, which I've "supported" since I was a kid - because my mum was from there.

Andy Murray (left), holds the hopes for British tennis fans as he plays in the Australian Open tomorrow against Rafael Nadal at the Rod Laver Stadium in Melbourne (oh yes, I've been there watching other British playes Tim Henmen and Greg Rusedski). Andy is yet to drop a set but this will be his toughest game yet as this is the first time he has been up against Nadal.

I'm not even going to mention the cricket........................

Media Whore and Random Thoughts

As you might be able to tell - I've been rather distracted from my normal blogging habits this week. I've had a "Media Whore" week as I set up MySpace and set about helping my housemate set up his and taking photo's for him. But I got him to take a few of me as I relaxed around the house and you can see the results here:
http://robmaccaextra.blogspot.com/2007/01/robmacca-at-home.html

I really should get back to blogging as it keeps me in touch with whats happening news wise and saves me from talking endlessly on MSN. Apart from being a media whore, I'm enjoying my life so much this year. Regular blog readers will know I went through a tough month in November - but I can proudly say it's helped shaped my life in a positive way. My housemate commented this weekend saying:

"I can honestly say that since your low patch in November, you've really bounced back and are back up there enjoying life"

Indeed robmacca is back and 2007 is already proving to be the best start for many years - I am another year older and I feel good about who I am and about my body. I used to write myself off as being "too old" or "not good enough" but now I have a fresh vibrant spirit and have been putting it to good use!

I wish I could blog all the deepest things that are going on right now in my life - but I know my blog is read by a lot of people, and some things are best kept private!

Next week I'll be away in London so will find it hard to blog while I'm away, but I may just set up my mobile to blog pictures while I'm away........

Thanks to YOU, my supportive friends who helped me get through the "down" spell (getting calls and texts from around the world really had a positive impact!). Hope your 2007 has got off to a good start and you get all you wish for.

Finally after spending last night and the whole of this afternoon trying to fix the problems - I've launched the "robmaccaOFFICIAL" MySpace.

Over on the site you will be able to watch the welcome video and on the Blog section - there are 10 brand new exclusive pictures in my postmans uniform (or lack of uniform in some pictures!).

Enjoy!

Emma Bunton Going To America?

Seems like the Spice Girls will need to reunite in America as yet another Spice Girl could be heading to the States. Emma Bunton could be following on the heels of Victoria Beckham and Melanie Brown by going to America to work.

Following her success on "Strictly Come Dancing" at the BBC recently, Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) is being wooed to take up a dancing part in the US version of the high rating show. Len Goodman is a judge on both the UK and US versions of the show and is believed to want Emma as part of the next US series. Len was a fan of Emma's right throughout the series and a move to the US would be in line with Simon Fuller's plans to have Emma acting in the States.

Len Goodman - professional dancer and judge.

Emma's new single "All I Need To Know" is released on 12th February and follows up her #3 hit "Downtown", both from her new album "Life in Mono" in the shops now.

Beckhams Going To America

Can Posh make it big in LA?

News of the Beckhams move to America has filled the media pages around the world today, as David becomes the world's highest paid footballer, earning an estimated $275m over the next five years (excluding any new endorsements he may get during his time at LA Galaxy football club).

Earning £70k a day, David has said it is not for the money but to grow football in the US, where the sport still lags far behind American football, baseball and basketball. Aged 31, David is far from over career wise and this move away from the traditional home of football may just work out well for sports Golden Balls. The Beckhams are constantly in the media, so where better to end your professional career than in Hollywood. If David can produce the goods for LA Galaxy, then America may just wake up to football and brand Beckham.

This brings us to Victoria, how will America receive the former Spice Girl? She was dubbed a "former celebrity" on last nights CBS news and may find life across the pond harder than her husband. Yet Victoria is a professional when it comes to courting the media's attention - just take the recent wedding of Tom Cruise to Katie Holmes. Victoria was able to stealthe limelight and afforded many tabloid front pages with her eye catching outfits.

It's a new chapter for the Beckhams, which will either bring the biggest returns yet for the DVB brand or it could lead to a gradual disappearance into oblivion like so many that try and conquer America.

The Monkey Is Back!

Comedy duo Johnny Vegas and his sidekick Monkey are the new faces of PG Tips.

The pair - who first appeared together in adverts for the now defunct ITV Digital - are reunited in the campaign which launched this week.
PG Tips said the woollen puppet's inclusion in the advert followed the success of its long-running chimps commercials.

In the new adverts, comedian Vegas plays the dim-witted Al alongside Monkey, who is voiced by comedian Ben Miller.
ITV Digital's popular Monkey campaign first hit screens in 2001 when the cuddly toy starred in a series of ads with Vegas.
The woolly mascot emerged as one of the pay-TV operator's most valuable assets after its collapse nearly five years ago.
A custody battle over Monkey then ensued between administrators Deloitte & Touche and London-based ad agency Mother which created him.
Monkey went on to feature in the BBC's Comic Relief charity campaign.

I love Monkey and it's a welcome return to our British screens, I know it's weird since he's "just" a puppet - but there's something funny about him and Al in the commercials. I'm glad PG Tips have revived the duo.

Now watch an interview with them and see the advert for yourself:

For all you international blog readers who have never even heard of Monkey, then watch the following video to see where it all began....................

The Beatles: Mr Postman

After work today I was having a nose on YouTube and was going to share something different but came across this excellent video by The Beatles, and since today seems to be a bit of an nostelgic blogging day - as my last post showed.

So click the video for a bit of true Brit pop, that was around before even I was born!

Lily Munster Dies

US actress Yvonne De Carlo , who starred in films opposite Clark Gable and Charlton Heston, has died at age 84 of natural causes, at the Motion Picture & Television facility in Woodland Hills, California on January 8th, 2007 and is survived by two children, Bruce and Bari. De Carlo won enduring fame as Lily Munster wife of a Frankenstein monster-like character in the cult TV series The Munsters (1964-1966).

This allowed De Carlo to demonstrate a comic flair that her films had failed to utilize. De Carlo worked in both film and television, playing her most recent role in the television production of The Barefoot Executive (1995).

Emma Bunton Wants Spice Girls Reunion

Emma Bunton, who turns 31 on Januray 21st has been speaking to Scotlands "Daily Record" about how she would like to see the Spice Girls reform.
The story tells how Emma and former bandmates Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Melanie C and Mel B, all missed out on the chance to play at Live 8 in the summer of 2005.

Now the singer has been encouraged by the success of the recent Take That reunion, which saw the boy band shoot straight to the top of the charts.

Emma said: "I speak to all the girls and there have been rumours about us reforming.
"We're all doing different things and some of the girls are mums, so priorities have changed. But I would love to do something with the Spice Girls again."

Though a Spice Girls reunion tour would be a massive money spinner, Emma says the gigs would not be about cashing in.

"I know we will have an amazing time," Emma said. "I would love to look to the side of the stage and see the girls there. But it would be a one-off gig for charity rather than a full scale tour."

Emma is now working as a solo artist and recently released her album Life In Mono.
The record includes Emma's recent Children In Need single, Downtown, and followed her stint on the TV show Strictly Come Dancing.

Beckham Tops "Best Dressed" Glamour List

Brand Beckham has come up trumps in the UK Glamour magazine "Best Dressed" list as revealed in the February issue. David Beckham came first in the male list and Victoria came second in the female list, being stopped only by Kylie Minogue. The list is a triumph for the Beckhams, who continue to capture the attention of the reading public and the snapping photographers. Looks like 2007 is going to be another good year for the Beckham brand!

Mel B Hounded by Murphy Fans

Picture from: The Sun /Picture of Eddie: WENN.COM

Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) has been put under 24-hour police protection after being hounded by obsessed Eddie Murphy fans. The former Spice Girl, who split up from the comedy star last month, is facing daily abuse from a group of fans camped outside her LA home, according to The Sun.

Although she spent last week living with her parents in Britain she has recently returned to her besieged house.A friend of the star told The Sun:

"She is extremely lonely in LA, and her life is being made intolerable by Eddie's fans camped outside."

They shout insults and give her abuse all the time. The police have decided to place an officer outside to keep an eye on things. She was living with Eddie before all this happened and spent her time with him - now she's all alone.

"She can't understand why he hasn't even bothered to phone and explain what's going on. Mel is incredibly hurt by it."

The source added: "So far Mel hasn't been thinking about money - and reports that she is going to tell all on US TV are just nonsense. Mel just wants to hear from Eddie before she does anything so she can decide what to do about her future and that of their baby."
The twists and turns of this Spice Girl continue to unfold but at least the majority of the public and press back Melanie.

Drunken Postie!

For legal reasons I can't name names – but there was a postman who went out last night to a party, got VERY drunk, staggered home . Then this said postman, climbed into bed at about 2am and slept through the alarm at 03:20am – thankfully they had a housemate who woke them up for work.

At work, this poor hung over postie felt so tired they found a quiet spot in the building and went to sleep on the floor for about an hour – the cheek of it – getting paid to sleep!

This week has been a full moon and so poor robmacca has been distracted from his usual blogging and internet searching. I was wondering why I'd been feeling so randy and then the full moon caught my eye and everything clicked into place.

Posh: Food Issues

The Sun reported today that Victoria Beckham admitted that she has "food issues" as she said:

"Every now and then of course I go out and eat what I like."
But she added: "But I do try to be quite disciplined in the way that I eat."

Victoria, who as The Sun revealed yesterday caused a scene at a Toby Carvery by demanding more turkey breast meat is often accused of not eating anything. The poor woman can't win - if she wants more food, The Sun reports it. If she eats healthily and is skinny, then she is pictured around the world as having an eating disorder!

Geri's Dog Banned From Gym

Geri at a recent premier in London

Poor Geri Halliwell has quit her Kensington local LA Fitness centre because they have banned her dog from being at her side while she exercised.

Apparently Harry was tied up next to her on the treadmill but as she worked out and the machine made a noise - he began to bark and yelp as he got more and more disturbed. This led to other gym customers to complain and Geri was told it was her or the dog that had to go!

So the front door called and Geri left the gym..................

Geri, if your reading this - I said in my last blog story I was looking for a gym partner if you fancy it!

Fitness

With the festive season now past, it seems that everyone is heading off to the gym to shed those extra pounds. Even I've been tempted to join, but luckily I haven't got a gym partner!
So to celebrate the new year in style, I've posted a collection of fitness pictures:
