According to net sources, Channel 4 in the UK are about to extend the contract for "Deal or No Deal" so that it stays on the channel for the next two years. The programme hosted by Noel Edmonds has gone from strength to strength since it was launched late in 2005, building on it's audience share.
Last Saturday's 7pm show had around 5m viewers and was one of Channel 4's highest rated programmes of the week - which hasn't gone un-noticed by the people over at ITV, who are still furious at losing "The Paul O'Grady Show" to Channel 4 recently. Bosses have been trying to poach "Deal or no Deal" in a revenge attack on the channel as it is denting it's Saturday night viewing figures since the show moved to a later, more competitive time slot.
Maybe ITV should just bring back classic "Crossroads" to fill it's teatime viewing .............................
