Real Reason Susan Boyle Lost Britain's Got Talent
No-one was more talked about than Susan Boyle, she became an overnight sensation as she became a hit with the judges, audience and the viewers. Millions of hits on YouTube and becoming a TV star in the United States seemed to seal Susan Boyle's fate. Bookies had her as the favourite to win, the newspapers were full of stories about her and the pressures of the final week but ultimately it was the general public who would have the last say as they cast their votes in the millions.
The real reason Susan Boyle lost Britain's Got Talent was because we love losers more than we do winners and while Diversity were no losers, the voting public just couldn't vote Susan Boyle to win because they already felt she had won - thanks to all the additional publicity generated by her previous performances. As Brits we prefer to see someone struggle in life and then make it, rather than someone who is talented and has it all. Although Susan had initially struggled (that is why she won our hearts), by the final she already had it all. Everyone knew she would become a massive star so it was time to give someone else a chance. Looking at the finalists of Britain's Got Talent shows just how much we like those who battle to get somewhere - whether it's Hollie with her tears, proud father and son duo Stavros Flatley or third place runner-up Julian Smith with his saxophone.
Being too good or talented can be a downfall sometimes, as Susan Boyle found out - yet she can be assured that now she is a 'loser' again the British public will love her!

The Selector To Reform?
Bassist Charley Anderson, pictured far right with Noel Gallagher at The Specials Ricoh gig, spoke to the Coventry Telegraph about the possiblity of The Selector reforming saying,
"There are vibrations in the air, it's up to demand - if the fans want it, it's going to happen."
The Selector were awarded a star on Coventry's 'Walk of Fame' on Friday and Arthur 'Gaps' Hendrickson was at the event saying, "It's amazing after all this time. It's good to know there's still so much interest."
Thirty years ago two-tone music was defining a generation and The Selector were part of that movement with 'On My Radio' making it to number eight in the UK charts, while The Specials were number ten with 'A Message To You Rudy/ Nite Club' in October 1979.

Eurovision Viewing Figures Improve
The wet weather seems to have lifted this years viewing figures for the Eurovision Song Contest on BBC1. As Norway romped to victory with Alexander Rybak's 'Fairytale', the UK enjoyed it's highest score since 1998 with Jade Ewen finishing fifth, performing 'It's My Time'.
Eurovision gained an extra 700,000 viewers this year as an average of 7.8m tuning into the spectacular music event hosted by Russia. No expense was spared as Russia spent £20m putting on the best stage event ever seen during the 54 years of Eurovision. Viewing figures peaked as the final results came in - with almost 10m tuning in to finds out how the UK had fared in the contest. Over on ITV, Britain's Got Talent was watched by 9.8m - down on previous weeks but
still ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest.

The Specials Bring Carnival To Coventry
Thirty years ago many in the audience would have been among those who would have been part of stage invasions or sporting a skin head haircut, but time had changed their appearance - the hair was now gone but not by choice! This time around the crowds were respectful and no invasions were needed, chants of 'rude boy' ecohed around the Jaguar Hall after each song as a carnival atmosphere filled the venue. Outside the rain poured down in Coventry and many inside may have been victims of the economic downturn but tonight everyone was able to forget their problems and indulge in teenage memories with The Specials taking centre stage.

Eurovison Viewing Figures To Drop
Viewing figures could well drop below seven million for the annual song contest with UK viewers opting for comfort with British talent rather than the prospect of a humiliating finish in Eurovision.
Last year 7.1m watched the Eurovision Song Contest as Andy Abraham came joint last and Terry Wogan bowed out after 30 years of hosting the event. This year less than 7m are expected to tune in as Jade performs 'It's My Time' for the UK. She is looks set to be a surprise hit with voters as the song has been well received across Eurpope and looks set for a decent result. Britain's Got Talent has been enjoying weekly viewing figures above the 11m mark as the programme continues to make headlines around the world, and could help end the UK's love/hate relationship with Eurovision. Two years ago 8.7m viewers were watching Eurovision on the BBC but a dip below 7m could raise calls for the long running event to be axed amid cries of block voting and frustration.
Whatever the result, British viewers will be glued to their TV sets watching men and women desperate for their 15 minutes of fame...................

Katie Price and Peter Andre Split - Where Next?
He was once and pop star and she a glamour model, then together they became a brand product trying to rival her arch enemy - the Beckhams. Together the couple ran marathons, created music and accepted any reality programme on offer. Katie and Peter made the headlines and the millions from their media brand but soon the 'fairytale' romance was wilting at the edges as more and more stories emerged about their strained relationship.
While their management company made the statement saying they, "both requested that the media respect their families' privacy at this difficult time", it is only a matter of time before one or both sell their inside story to Hello or OK magazine. The question remains - Where next?
Could we see Jordan making a comeback spread semi-naked across a batch of lad mags, promoting her latest book detailing the darkest secrets from her marriage to Peter Andre? Will Peter Andre disappear into oblivion like his record career or will he climb back onto the reality bandwagon, appearing on a TV show near you soon?
Chances are the media management company that have run the Katie Price/Peter Andre brand have already penciled in 'plan B', meaning the public will still see them trying to cling onto fame as the light fades on their relationship.

PICTURE: Victoria Beckham Without Make-Up
Beckham has been described as 'normal' by gym members who told the Daily Mail, "Posh is always low-key when she comes here."
"She wears normal gym gear and is always happy to hang out and have a juice and a chat afterwards."
"She’s remarkably normal and doesn’t seem to care if people see her sweaty with no make-up on."
"She’s confident in her looks and actually looks way better without all the war paint slapped on."
Victoria looked slim and toned in the latest Armani underwear picture this week and attributed her look to working out.

Fears For 'Skinny' Sarah Harding
Sarah Harding is currently on tour with Girls Aloud as they go 'Out Of Control' around the UK, but questions have been raised as the chart topping blonde bombshell looks gaunt and frail in recent public appearances. She may have sung the words, 'No Good Advice' yet now Sarah could do with heeding some good advice and eating a good meal or two! Once the face of Ultimo underwear - Harding had the figure women would die for and men lust over, could the touring have taken it's toll finally?
Her DJ boyfriend, Tom Crane has come to Sarah's defence saying, "It doesn't bother her but it's not fair because she eats well and if she's hungry, she will eat. She works it off from dancing and exercising, that's why, plus she has a good metabolism." The couple are planning on getting married as reported HERE.
Meanwhile, Sarah Harding could be heading to America for more acting work once the Girls Aloud tour finishes on June 6th. Top talent agency are apparently interested in setting up some work for Sarah, having been impressed with her acting in the upcoming BBC drama 'Freefall'.

Richard and Judy Quit Chat Show
Richard and Judy have announced they have quit their chat show on Watch TV, ending a 20 year award winning partnership. The show comes to an end on July 3rd and the couple will not be returning together in the near future.
The shows format failed to attract viewers - falling to a low of 8,000 and a far cry from the millions who tuned in during their time at Channel 4 and ITV. The couple have always been honest about the venture to Watch TV and said, "Some you win, some you lose. It's a shame we couldn't get this one to fly because both we and our brilliant young production team were genuinely proud of the show and the guests it attracted."
"But it became obvious that it wasn't the right fit with a brand new pay-for-view digital channel. TV is all about taking risks and that means sometimes you fail. It was a really worthwhile experiment and we don’t regret it at all."
No future projects have been announced yet, Richard and Judy have not ruled out working independently from each other as well as together.

New 'Abba' Song Returns To Eurovision Style
The bearded half of ABBA (yes the men!) - Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus are returning to their pop roots with their first pop songs in fifteen years and I've got to admit they are pretty damn good ( I'm a sucker for Euro pop and all things tacky). The video below entitled "Second Best To None" was written by the ABBA duo and features employees from the Hotel Rival in Stockholm.
The ABBA men have enjoyed a good working relationship since the demise of ABBA and enjoyed acclaimed success with Chess the musical in the 80's and other projects. The Benny Andersson Band will be releasing their English translation material in the UK on July 6th.
Maybe we could get ABBA to work on our Eurovision entry song for next year.............

Sarah Harding Set For Traditional Wedding
Tom told the newspaper, ""I want the top and tails, more subtle than a celebrity wedding. I'd like to get married in a country church in the middle of nowhere. It will be old school, I like Olde England. I really don't want to do it on a beach somewhere with loads of people from the club industry. I want my family and friends there."
Sarah Harding and Tom Crane have been together for two years after meeting during one of Tom's DJ sets at London's Mahiki nightclub. The couple also bought a £1m home together last year. Speaking of their sex lives Tom revealed, ""We have a very good, active sex life. When we haven't seen much of one another we really make up for it in bed. We have passionate sex and when the moment takes us it gets pretty heated."

Twitter Hacked
Croll had been able to log into the account of Jason Goldman, Twitter’s director of product management. The embarrassment was confirmed by Twitter founder Biz Stone, who said that “unauthorized access” was gained by an outside party this week, but only 10 individual accounts were viewed during this unlawful access period.
Since the hack, security has been stepped up and all areas are being looked at to avoid further compromises. The hacker claims to have been able view famous accounts like Lily Allen, Britney Spears, U.S President Barack Obama and with over a million Twitter followers, Ashton Kutcher. Twitter has become this year's must-have social website with growth rates of 1382% in February alone.
