Apple have announced that the price of some iTunes tracks could be as cheap as 59p in a new pricing structure designed to make the download market more competitive in 2009. Amazon has already entered into a pricing war with the music giant by offering albums at £3 and it looks like 2009 could be a good year for customers as prices drop.
The new prices for downloading tracks on iTunes will be 99p, 79p and 59p - the price will depend on how much record companies charge them. Apple is also making millions of tracks free from copyright protection, meaning users can transfer their music onto different appliances rather than just an iPod.
