Mercury Prize 2009 - Nominations

Here is the full Mercury Prize nominations for 2009,with Kasabian and Florence and the Machine being the early favourites to win this years prize. Last year Elbow won the Mercury Award, beating the likes of Estelle and The Last Shadow Puppets. The Mercury Prize Awards will take place in London on Tues September 8..

  1. I'd advise catching two of the nominees - The Invisible and Friendly Fires this weekend at Standon Calling festival ( http://www.standon-calling.com/ ) just outside of london. I've been two years running and had a hoot on all occasions. Last year they showcased Glasvegas and Florence and the Machine - clearly a premonitionary talent for spotting mercury-worthy budding acts. BE THERE.
