Depeche Mode Set For Album Chart Topper

Depeche Mode look set to top the UK Album Chart on Sunday with their twelfth full-length album 'Sounds Of The Universe', knocking Lady Ga Ga from the top spot. Her album will spend it's fifteenth week inside the charts but looks set to drop down into the number two position. The Noisettes 'Wild Young Hearts' is also chasing the #1 spot in the album chart this week.

Sounds Of The Universe was released yesterday in the US and Canada following the European release at the start of the week. The last time Depeche Mode had a #1 album in the UK was way back in April 1997 with 'Ultra' but it seems fans have been willing to wait for the latest album. So far the band have sold over 75 million albums worldwide and will be heading off to the US in August to perform at Lollapalooza.
