Mamma Mia! The Movie has become the UK's fastest selling DVD ever this week, it sold 1,669,084 copies on Monday's release date, smashing the previous record held by Titanic - selling 560,000 more copies in the process. As we reported here, Mamma Mia! has already taken over £67m to become the UK's most popular film.A spokesman for supermarket Asda said 300,000 copies had been sold in its stores with, 15% of shoppers buying a copy on Monday.
Official Charts Company managing director Martin Talbot said: "This is an absolutely phenomenal opening day for Mamma Mia! The Movie - we genuinely have never seen its like before in 10 years of tracking DVD retail sales."
