The Specials To Play Glastonbury?

The Specials have been heavily rumoured to be one of the bands who will be performing at this year's Glastonbury Festival, according to NME.COM. As news that the 2009 festival has now sold out, Coventry SKA legends The Specials were one of the four headline acts tipped to perform.

The recently reformed band could be headlining Glastonbury with another iconic band - Blur, who also reformed this year. Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young are the other two big acts expected to be announced nearer to the June festival.

Meanwhile The Specials Neville Staple will be joining SKA 'super group' Special Beat for a tour of Australia in April, just before embarking on The Specials UK tour. He will be joining Pauline Black from Selector and ‘Ranking’ Roger from The Beat for the five date tour.

The Australian Tour Dates:

April 12, Brisbane, The Step Inn
April 13, Byron Bay, East Coast Blues and Roots Festival
April 16, Sydney, The Forum
April 17, Melbourne, Prince Of Wales
April 18, Perth, West Coast Blues and Roots Festival
