The Welsh singer beat Take That who sold 1.446million copies in just four weeks since 'Circus' was released. Take That have the fastest million selling album ever in the UK.
Kings of Leon, Leona Lewis and Coldplay all went on to sell over a million copies of their albums as fans continued to snap up albums in the UK despite the credit crunch. Girls Aloud ended 2008 on a high as their new album 'Out of Control' gave them their first studio album #1.
