The Cougars @ Kasbah Coventry

The Cougars were back in Coventry over the Bank Holiday weekend and the crowds at Kasbah nightclub were in for a real treat. Ashley, George, Ross and Matt not only warmed up for The Delays performance, they truly 'rocked the Kasbah' with their power packed set list.

Despite The Cougars having van trouble, even before they had set off from Cambridge it didn't stop lead singer Ashley and drummer Matt from lugging all the equipment into their cars and driving up to Coventry so as not to disappoint fans. Many an artist would have pulled the plug on the gig but The Cougars love Coventry too much for such a thing to happen!

The Cougars deserve praise for delivering such an energetic performance and are a worthy contenders for the main stage at the Kasbah. Coventry and indeed the world, needs bands like The Cougars during these difficult times. Despite having a long drive back to Cambridge and the prospect of a long 13 hour shift at work, Ashley and the lads stayed behind for The Delays set and shared a few drinks long into the night with fans. No wonder Coventry love The Cougars!

Here are the Vanity Fair pictures of the World Cup footballers getting down to just their pants for the June issue of the glossy magazine. Cristiano Ronaldo and Didier Drogba can be seen on the cover in just a pair of tight pants for the Annie Leibovitz photoshoot.

World Cup players Muntari, Donovan, Kaka, Eto'o and Da Silva were also part of the Vanity Fair exclusive article, but it was Cristiano Ronaldo who has drawn the most publicity. The June issue of Vanity Fair is out now!

Muslim Extremists Force South Park Censorship

Comedy Central had to bleep out and censor any references to the so-called Prophet Muhammad in the latest episode of South Park, after Muslim extremists made veiled threats over the episode that depicted Muhammad as a bear.

The controversial cartoon series is no stranger to public outrage, but with comments from an Muslim extremists website warning of the outcome if the episode was showing, prompted Comedy Central to bleep out all references to Muhammad. The website listed the New York headquarters of Comedy Central, the cable television channel that broadcasts the show, and South Park's production company, adding: "You can pay them a visit at these addresses."

The Cougars Return To Coventry

The Cougars are coming back to Coventry on Friday 23 April (St Georges Day) and will get the Kasbah rocking with their lively performance. The Cambridge lads are no strangers to Coventry - having previously performed at The Phoenix twice and long time friends of Coventry's The Ripps meant they already know Kasbah.

One of The Cougars songs (check out the words to 'You Having A Good Time Man' on their MySpace page), was inspired after an unexpected night out at the Colosseum and The Cougars have been eager to return back to Coventry for a long time.

If you have not heard The Cougars perform, then get yourself to the Kasbah on Friday evening and celebrate St George's Day in style with the infectious sounds of SKA, indie and punk all rolled into one! The band are so impressive, I was inspired to write these words, "The best new band of 2007 with their fusion of punk/pop and a stage presence that keeps the audience memorised throughout. These guys deserve to be MASSIVE! Well worth watching live!"

WHO: The Cougars

- Ashley Read (Vocals, Guitar)WHERE: Kasbah, Primrose Street, Coventry
- Ross Castle (Guitar)
- George Coupland(Bass)
- Matt Johnson (Drums)
