Kylie: Geisha Girl Gone Wong!
The tour may well be costing £10m to stage but it seems Kylie has lost the plot and the pop princess crown could finally slip. Her album flopped in America recently, selling just 6,000 in it's first week and failed to make it into the Top 100. Yet Kylie is still much loved around the world, with ticket sales over 500,000. The World Tour kicks off in Paris on May 6th and time will tell if Kylie is heading for a 'wong' turn with her geisha style. This could be another Madonna style re-invention of course ....................

Ronaldo: Transvestite Prostitute Nightmear!
Ronaldo's got wood!
AC Milan and Brazilian football player Ronaldo got more than he bargained for when he picked up three prostitutes on Monday night. Having just dropped his girlfriend home in Rio de Janeiro, the footballer was obviously feeling horny so booked into a motel hoping for a night of steamy hot sex with the three prostitutes.
Unfortunately, the three women turned out to be transvestites and Ronaldo got a bit more than expected when the cross dressing prostitutes allegedly extorted him for money. It turned into the night from hell for the Brazilian star who was left with a lot of explaining to do when he was reunited with his girlfriend.
Brazilian police are quoted as saying, "Ronaldo admits the facts. He said he just wanted to amuse himself, that's not a crime. To pay to have sexual relations isn't illegal". Under Brazilian law, while pimping sex workers and running establishments where sex is sold are illegal, prostitution itself is not - no wonder Ronaldo refused to pay the prostitutes.
I'm sure he has since found some light relief elsewhere!
Geri Halliwell : Solo Career Ends
Manchester will host Geri Halliwell at a book signing on May 11th between 3pm and 4pm at the Trafford Centre. Geri plans to release a new book each month based on nine year old Ugenia Lavender.
Speaking about the recent Spice Girls reunion, Geri said:
"I feel we are just like a family. We clicked again straight away - it's just like a family travelling in a bubble. I really enjoy our relationships, but I always wish I had left the group under better circumstances, rather than just walking out. But that's exactly why I wanted to do it again."

Puppets Rule Irish Charts
Ireland has got a touch of "Eurovision" fever ahead of the massive event next month. It's surprise entry - a puppet called Dustin, is this weeks highest entry in the Irish charts. 'Irelande Douze Points' is new at number five and looks set to top the charts in Ireland over the next few weeks. Madonna and Justin Timberlake may have topped the UK charts last week but the duo had to settle with #2 as their single '4 Minutes' was unable to knock Sharon Shannon and Mundy's "The Galway Girl" from #1. The single has spent a massive 46 weeks in the Irish charts already.
Last Shadow Puppets
The Last Shadow Puppets, 'The Age of the Understatement' album made an impressive entry at #2, going the same way as The Kooks, 'Konk' a week prior. Both were unable to move Mary Black from the number one position. But it looks like the Last Shadow Puppets are heading for #1 in the UK on Sunday.

Daniel Radcliffe Naked Again!
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will be getting naked again (as seen in this picture!), but this time his wand will be waving on Broadway.
Security will be tightened this time, special equipment is being installed to stop fans taking photos of Daniel Radcliffe during the 20 minutes he is nude on stage.
According to the Daily Star, the 18-year-old actor is taking his hit West End show "Equus" to the Broadhurst Theatre in New York from September 5th. But theatre bosses are worried fans may try to sneak cameras in – like they did during the London performances. So they are fitting infra-red spy cameras, which can detect in the darkened theatre whether anyone in the audience is carrying photo equipment.
A source said: "When the show opened in the UK, some rather over-enthusiastic female fans sneaked cameras in to flash Daniel when he strips naked on stage. They all wanted pictures to circulate to friends and over the net. "

TV Ratings: Britain's Got Talent 10m Viewers
Pushing Daisies was in the news during the week as ITV controversially dropped an episode in a cock-up with scheduling with the football. The second installment was watched by 4.7m, with a million deserting the American drama - one can only assume viewers looked to the internet to find the "missing" episode!
Dr Who was also down 1.2m as "Planet of the Ood" was slotted into the earlier time of 6:20pm, a choice Russell T Davies was not happy about. But the BBC Sci-fi drama still attracted 6.9m viewers (33%) so all is not lost. See last weeks ratings story for more : HERE

The Enemy Reveal T-Shirt Secret
Coventry fans of The Enemy were left perplexed at the recent Ricoh Arena gigs by a T-shirt worn by bassist Andy Hopkins. As seen in the picture above, Andy Hopkins had printed on his T-shirt "Free The Finbarr's Two". It set tongues wagging following the hugely successful tour and now we can reveal the story behind the t-shirt.
Long time friend of The Enemy, John Kelly, is the reason Andy wore the t-shirt "Free The Finbarr's Two". John used to sell T-shirts for the band at the early gigs but was recently jailed for a year for disorder. Known for his charity work and described as "a really peaceful lad", Tom Clarke went on to explain the story of how the incident happened at the end of a night when things were heated. There was some kind of incident and "I think he had a momentary lapse."
Kelly picked up a metal stand used to secure the velvet rope into the club and brandished it. The incident was caught on CCTV and Kelly was jailed for a year.
John Kelly
"He's in prison now. He probably won't serve the full year because it's a first
offence, but I just think it's terrible that a momentary lapse ..... I think
that when you disrupt the community you should have to put something back -
maybe a bit of community service - then he might have thought twice about
jumping in. I just think it's really unfair to have a good lad, who's helped the
community anyway, put away for a year."
The Enemy dedicated "This Song" to John Kelly at the Ricoh gig while his family were among the 8,000 fans in attendance. So now you know why Andy Hopkins had the words "Free The Finbarr's Two" printed on his T-shirt, and a very fitting tribute to John Kelly who had sold many T-shirts for The Enemy.
I think I may have even bought a T-shirt from John back at the early Colosseum gig...................

Leona Lewis Tops US Album And Singles Chart
Leona sold 205,000 copies in America last week, knocking country singer George Strait off the #1 spot. Her single "Bleeding Love" has also climbed back up to the top of the Billboard singles chart, knocking Mariah Carey off the top spot. Leona became first ever British female artist to debut at #1 in the album chart.
The American market is hard to crack but Leona has been working tirelessly in the US and the rewards have finally paid off.

Scary Carey!
Mariah Carey seems to be everywhere at the moment, could it be she has a new album and single out I wonder?!
Scary Carey has been on media overload telling Oprah she had to give up eating macaroni cheese to lose weight and Now! magazine that she quite fancies Prince Charles as well as having an eye for Darius Danesh in the West End musical "Gone With The Wind".
Oh yeah, and she's number 1 in the American Billboard charts for the 18th time. But quite frankly madam, I don't give a damn!
Please, please SHUT UP...........

Britain's Got Talent Beats BBC Talent Show
The programme that gave the nation Paul Potts looks set to be a ratings winner over the coming weeks as viewers continue to follow the hopefuls on their journey. The BBC had to settle for second place as 1.4m viewers switched channels for Britain's Got Talent. ITV benefited all evening with a strong performance on shows like the new US Drama "Pushing Daisies", starring former Brookside actress Anna Friel. One in four viewers watched the new drama, which was up against the old BBC favourite "Casualty". The ITV drama was just 500,000 viewers behind and next week will give a clearer picture of ITV's Saturday night ratings battle prospects.
At least the BBC still has Dr Who, on 8.1m this week is still holding strong for it's fourth series.
A Nice Beckham Picture!

The Enemy: Liam Watts Interview
It's been an incredible 2007 for Coventry band The Enemy and it's about to get better for their thousands of fans as they get ready to headline this year's Godiva Festival, on the 4-6 July at Memorial Park. Mick McLaughlin, caught up with drummer Liam Watts to talk about their favourite festival, their amazing success and why there's no place like home ...
WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE TO BE HEADLINING THE GODIVA FESTIVAL?
It's going to be mental! If last year is anything to go by it could quite easily end up being one of the best gigs of the year.
Playing in front of home crowds means so much to us, we don't get to do it very often so when the opportunity comes around we're buzzing about it!! Can't wait!
SO 2007 WAS A FANTASTIC YEAR FOR YOU - TELL US ABOUT YOUR HIGHLIGHTS?
A lot happened for us in 2007 so it's hard to narrow it down too much. We'd probably say the festivals. Reading and Leeds were immense. T in the Park was top, Glastonbury was muddy but sound and not forgetting Godiva which went off big time. Don't be surprised if the tent comes down this year!
YOU'VE RECENTLY BEEN ON TOUR - WHAT WAS THAT LIKE AND AT WHICH STADIUM DID YOU RECEIVE THE BEST RESPONSE?
Yeh we've done some quite big support tours with the Manics and Stereophonics recently. They were all arena size venues probably around the 8,000 mark. We had a top reception across the board. It was good to get into the bigger venues and find our feet on some big stages. Would be hard to pick out a favourite gig from those tours.
DO YOU SEE YOURSELVES AS ROLE MODELS/AMBASSADORS FOR COVENTRY?
We don't see ourselves any different to how we did before the band, although we understand for some people we may be kind of 'role models'. We just want to show people that achieving your dreams is a possibility and that you should believe in yourself! As for being 'ambassadors' ..... more like just three normal lads who will fly the flag!
TELL US ABOUT YOUR FORTHCOMING ALBUM?
We're in the studio doing some demos and jamming new ideas every time we're back. It's still quite a busy time for us, we're only just coming to the end of the cycle on the first record. It's exciting getting back into the studio and coming up with fresh ideas.
There's always new songs floating about and we can't wait to properly get our teeth into the next album.
WHAT ELSE IS IN STORE FOR 2008?
Festivals are a big part of the year, we're looking forward to playing to the festival crowds again and seeing how they react to the songs this time round. Others than that we'll be as busy as ever and working on the next record. And who knows we might even get a little bit of sunshine just for good measure!
WHO IS THE NICEST CELEBRITY YOU HAVE MET?
Nicest celebrity, we get asked stuff like that quite a lot and it's tough. Recently we met Paul Weller, he got up and played one of our tunes with us at a gig in London. He's a legend and was a proper geezer! However I did get the urge to sing his song 'In the City' at him every time I saw him. I exercised self restraint.
WHAT WAS THE FIRST ALBUM/CD YOU BOUGHT?
Probably something quite embarrassing from the early 90's! I can't actually remember to be honest, or maybe I've just developed selective memory.
NME VOTED COVENTRY AS ONE OF THE COOLEST PLACES ON THE PLANET WHICH WAS DOWN TO THE ENEMY ... HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THAT?
I hadn't heard that actually. Nice to know that it is getting a bit of recognition and that some more people might actually know where it is now! One of the 'coolest places on the planet' , yeah lets take that. Though, I'd probably say one of the most real places. I love coming home.
IF YOU WERE AN UP AND COMING BAND IN COVENTRY WOULD YOU APPLY FOR THE GODIVA FESTIVALS 'G FACTOR' WHICH GIVES LOCAL MUSICIANS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY LIVE ON THE MAIN STAGE AT THE GODIVA FESTIVAL?
Definitely, it's a class festival and it should continue to grow!
Sorry to the select few residents who enjoy a good moan about it year after year, but it's good for this city! Any Cov band should enter this. It should be the biggest date in the music calendar.
Suppose you could always go and watch Bon Jovi again instead!? I don't think so!!!
WHAT ARE YOUR TIPS TO MAKE IT ON THE MUSIC SCENE?
As a band you gotta get some decent tunes together and practice your arses off! Get a demo together and get out there and play some mega gigs. You gotta have your live show nailed then just go and smash it! Believe in yourself and deliver it like your life depends on it.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MUSIC COMPETITIONS LIKE 'X FACTOR'? DO YOU THINK THEY ARE CREDIBLE?
The first lot of auditions are hilarious lets be honest. But as it progresses and gets into the latter stages I'd say foregone conclusion and tend to turn off. As for credibility I don't know.
I wouldn't be willing to let Simon Cowell or the other one mould me and make all the decisions. However for the winner it could be their only opportunity and a dream come true.I wouldn't like to take the shine off it for the person who wins.
Leona Lewis has done alright and does have some credibility. Kym from Hear'Say is now in Coronation Street. As with the whole music industry it's hit and miss. Could be 'crystal on ice' or quite easily 'celebrity dancing on ice'.
WHO ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ARTISTS?
That fella who chopped his ear off was pretty sound! Haha you mean in music! Over the decades we've been spoiled for choice by some of the best music in the world. It's hard to choose just one but if we list: The Beatles, The Who, Zeppelin, Queen, The Jam, SexPistols, The Clash, Bowie, Oasis and The Verve, then I think that says it all.
SUM UP YOUR HOME CITY IN THREE WORDS?
I'd like to say 'home sweet home' but I'm aware I've used the same word twice.
For Coventry's future I'll say it forward, onward and upward!

The Specials Are "Rehearsing Together"
The Specials
Neville Staple has revealed that the Specials have been back in the studio together rehearsing and may do a UK tour later this year. This backs up the story last week (as reported HERE), where Terry Hall said the Specials could do a "dignified" return, if they "were good enough".
NME and Music Week reported the story and Neville Staples is quoted as saying:
"A couple of months ago we (all) started talking, We had to talk first to see if we could get on, but we got past the talking stage. Then we said, 'Okay, let’s see what we're like in a room together rehearsing with instruments'."
Following early talks Staple said singer Terry Hall met up with the band and they held two rehearsals.
"We're just seeing how it goes," Staple told Music Week. "If it gels, it gels. If it doesn’t, you don't wanna go out there as some old geriatrics – not me. What we've got to do is make sure the music at least is right.
"So if it works, we'll do it. If not, well. I'm sorry lads and girls. But we're trying."
Neville Staple was back on stage this weekend performing a string of Specials classics in front of an 8,000 crowd at The Enemy gig in their hometown of Coventry. The band may be older but the sound is just as good now as it was back in the hey day of SKA music.
The Specials were last in the charts in 2001 when an expanded, remastered version of their self-titled 1979 debut album reached #22, The Specials album debuted at number 28 this week on sales of 6,271 copies of their CD/DVD combo package "The Best Of The Specials". The Enemy are also inside the Top 30 with their debut album, "We'll Live And Die In These Towns", which has already sold over 300,000 copies since it's release last July. This is possibly one of the only times Coventry have had two bands inside the Top 30 album chart on the same week!

The Enemy: Ricoh Arena, Coventry - Sunday Review and Videos
The Enemy surpassed themselves with their final gig at Coventry's Ricoh Arena. As if Saturday's gig hadn't been electrifying enough, Sunday was a nuclear bomb of energy and a room full of dynamite.
I thought the Sunday gig would be calmer or quieter but how wrong I was! Although the crowds were timid to begin with, it didn't take long until the party was fully going. The first support act consisted of most of the Specials including Neville Staple, which treated the Coventry crowds to ska classics like "A Message To You Rudy", "Ghost Town" and many more (Watch the videos: HERE). While the older members of the audience (and those with discerning taste) lapped up the sound of two-tone, the new generation were more into Boy Kill Boy and the Displacements as support acts for The Enemy.
Coventry grew restless as 9pm approached and the bottle battle commenced for a second night at the Jaguar Hall. Football chants and pushing kept everyone entertained, one brave young man climbed on a friends shoulders - goading the throng to throw bottles and cans at him. He wasn't disappointed as bottles hurtled towards him in vast numbers.
The Enemy rock the Ricoh!
The reason another 8,000 people had turned out in the snowy weather was solely this - The Enemy. From the moment they entered the stage until the moment they left, everyone gave 100%. The audience fuelled and ready to dance, sing and celebrate - the band were home and proud of Coventry. Fast moving songs like "Away From Here" "Technodanceaphobic" and "Pressure" meant no time to stand still and be an observer, it was dance or be crushed! Other songs slowed it down, "Sing When You're In Love" and "Happy Birthday Jane" - giving you a chance to cool down for a few minutes. Then everyone would leave with the anthem tunes of "This Song Is About You" and "We'll Live And Die In These Towns" ringing inside their heads for days to come. Arms waving and crowd surfing was the order of the night as The Enemy delivered an ever maturing set.
