Food Update
Yes, the fridge is looking very empty and the freezer is not much better but all of this hardship is about to come to an end in the coming days as I start back as a Postie tomorrow. Hopefully by the end of the month I'll have been shopping and an empty fridge will be a thing of the past.
Its been a tough few months, where food has been not been taken for granted but has been seen as quite a luxury. Don't get me wrong - I've not been starving or going hungry like so many people experience, but I've had to get by on the very bare minimum to survive.
All of this has helped me to be grateful for the little I have and reminds me how incredibly fortunate we are to be able to have a meal. I hope when I'm back at the Post Office I remember the past few months and don't just slip back into taking things for granted.
There is a fine line between being humbled and being desperate - to be humbled can lead to a positive change in a persons behaviour but to be desperate can lead to a negative situation that can break the human spirit.
My Eurovision Winner - Bosnia
The video is fantastic and the song is sooooooooo catchy, now I don't know if it can beat the hot favourite from Greece but check out the video for "Call Me":

End of an era...............
Coventry City Football Club Logo.
After 106 years, Coventry City Football Club are moving from the footie grounds they have been playing. It's easy to be nostalgic and sad but I'm both happy and sad.
Sad to see the end of an era and watch the fans go to the footie ground near to where I live, sad because of the history and sad because it was so close to my home. But I'm also happy cos I'll be able to park my car on match days, happy cos its a new era for Coventry and I'm happy cos there is a new 32,000 seater stadium with prospects for live music in Coventry at last.
I'm not much of a footie fan but I do like to watch the results - still, it was kinda sad to walk past the stadium and take the picture of the CCFC logo. Hope it all goes well in the new £113m stadium..........

Blogg of the Week.........
This Blogg had me smiling as I went Blogg hopping tonight. I liked the picture, which has been "adapted" from a HSBC "The world's local bank" advert in the UK.

Eurovision Song Contest - Update
Eurovision Song Contest 2005 -UPDATE
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/eurovision/2005
It is just 9 days until the Semi - Final and I am starting to get excited - yep you've guessed it, I am one sad individual. But I can't help it - Eurovision brings out the best in me. I love the different styles of music and absolutely love the voting. Last year I got into it BIG time and was hoping to do a party this year since it is the 50th Eurovision , but sadly I have no money so will be celebrating all that is Eurovision next Saturday with some good friends of mine.
Last year I was on DenDen and made quite a night of it - flag waving , wine drinking and score pad at the ready.......... Only to wake up about 4am with a bottle of wine in my hand. I felt like Patsy from Ab Fab! I think going to the Eurovision websites before the event got me more hyper and made me more interested in the event cos I could hear all the songs before the contest. No wonder I ordered the CD and DVD from Amazon following the fantastic event in Turkey last May.
This year I am more hopeful of the UK entry - Javine "Touch My Fire" as it has a more Eastern European feel to it, so I am hoping it will score well. I'm going to try and listen to all the other songs now on the BBC website to get me in the mood for next Thursday's Semi Final (shown on BBC3).
I love Eurovision!!!

Goodbye Old Job.....
No more......................
and no more..................
After just 7 months of listening to moaning problems about sewers and water leaks - I finally handed back my headset and said goodbye to my job at the water company I had been working for. It was a sad day leaving the people that had made me feel so welcome after such a short time. They gave me a card and some shopping vouchers ( - yes, they knew I was hard up!) then I was hugged, kissed, emailed and waved at all day by various people saying "goodbye".
I will no longer be a prisoner of the headset, and it will be good being my normal self instead of "having" to be nice to the public ALL day long! It has been a good experience trying something new but now I am going back to what I do best - BEING A POSTIE!

Day Tripper - Stratford-Upon-Avon
1. Sunset in Coventry can be nice you know!
2. Alex outside ye olde buildings
3. Robbie and Alex enjoy the sunshine
4. Another old Stratford building
5. A slice of country life in England.
Life can be great in Britain - when the sun shines, as we found out this weekend. Living in the centre of England has it's good points and a short drive to Stratford-Upon-Avon proved that. We had a gentle stroll in the town and followed the river around as people relaxed or on the grass or were rowing along the waters - all very English and very laid back.
I'm looking forward to the Summer months ahead, as the first picture shows - even Coventry can have lovely sun sets!!
